Ingredients

  • Yam: 1/2 large yam

  • Oil for frying: Enough to fill the pan to about 1 inch deep (approximately 1 cup)


For the Seasoning Mix:

  • Smoked paprika: 1 tablespoon

  • All-purpose seasoning: 1 tablespoon

  • Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon

  • Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil: 3 tablespoons (to mix with the seasonings)

Preparation

Step 1


Carefully peel the skin of the yam and slice it into fries. Soak the yam slices in water for 25-30 minutes.



Step 2


In a separate bowl, combine smoked paprika, all-purpose seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, and 3 tablespoons of oil. Mix until well combined.



Step 3


Drain the yam slices and add them to the seasoning mixture. - Toss the yam slices until they are evenly coated with the seasoning.



Step 4


Heat some oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the yam fries for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.



Step 5


Once the fries are golden, remove them from the oil and shake off any excess. Serve with a sauce of your choice and enjoy!
